Forecast K2 02-06/07/2004
A trough will give some showers over K2 from Friday. Sunday-Monday a low seems to form over Kashmir and there is risk of more widespread precipitation. Perhaps somewhat drier very late in the period
Jet:
No Jet over the K2-area Friday-Sunday. Then a weak westerly jet will pass over Uzbekistan-Kashmir probably just north of K2.

Summit:
9000 m: West-southwest 10-15 m/s increasing to 15-20 m/s. From Monday 20-25 m/s.
7500 m: West-southwest 5-10 m/s. From Monday 10-15 m/s.

A weak ridge is situated over Afghanistan. It may at times affect the K2-area during the first days giving only risk of occasional showers. Then it seems to become more unsettled with frequent showers due to lows over Kashmir and Tibet.
