Forecast K2 08-12/07/2004
Thursday-Saturday a couple of troughs will pass with quite a lot of showers. Then probably drier conditions due to an upper ridge over Afghanistan and northern Pakistan, but there is still risk of a few showers.
Jet:
No jet in the K2-area most of the period. However, on Friday a weak westerly one seems to pass close to K2.

Summit:
9000 m: West-southwest 20-25 m/s. On Friday shortly 25-30 m/s. Then dropping to 15-20 m/s.
7500 m: Southwest-west 5-10 m/s.

Weather:

WEATHER

A weak ridge is situated over Afghanistan. It may at times affect the K2-area during the first days giving only risk of occasional showers. Then it seems to become more unsettled with frequent showers due to lows over Kashmir and Tibet.
