Forecast K2 23-27/07/2004
A trough over the K2-area giving unstable weather and showers. From Saturday drier conditions due to a ridge over Afghanistan. At the end of the period a low seems to form over Kashmir and giving showery conditions again.
Jet:
No jet in the K2-area. During the period a minor westerly jet will be situated from Uzbekistan to China. Most likely it will stay well north of the K2-area.

Summit:
9000 m: West 15-20 m/s. On Sunday temporarily dropping to about 10 m/s.
7500 m: West-northwest 5-10m/s. From Saturday turning to west-southwest and at times somewhat increasing winds.

Weather:

A weak ridge is situated over Afghanistan. It may at times affect the K2-area during the first days giving only risk of occasional showers. Then it seems to become more unsettled with frequent showers due to lows over Kashmir and Tibet.
