It's snowing and all mountaineers, including Marco Anghileri, are back in BC. lino Lacedelli should arrive in a couple of days time.
Friday 9 July, 16.25, it's still snowing
Marco Anghileri, who left BC alone yesterday, spent the night in Camp 1 and was then forced to return to BC. Mario Dibona, on his way to K2 after summiting Broad Peak, opted to rest at Broad Peak BC, and will reach us tomorrow. We look forward to embracing him and finding out more details about the ascent.
The first group of trekkers arrived in BC today. They had accompanied Lino Lacedelli on various stages throughout the trek and they told how his presence was an unforgettable experience, full of emotions, as there were continuous celebrations along the trek. From Islamabad to the smallest hamlets numerous crowds gathered chanting "Mister Lino welcome, Mister Lino welcome!" We too are waiting for him... He'll probably arrive in a coupe of days, seeing that today's snowfall definitely has not improved the already difficult path from Concordia to here.

A weak ridge is situated over Afghanistan. It may at times affect the K2-area during the first days giving only risk of occasional showers. Then it seems to become more unsettled with frequent showers due to lows over Kashmir and Tibet.
