Mario Lacedelli and Luciano Zardini start descent
Mario Lacedelli and Luciano Zardini have started the long descent from Camp 4 back down to BC. The weather got worse during the night.
Base Camp Thursday 29 July 2004
The weather got worse during the night and this morning it was snowing slightly, which could slow the mountaineers down.

Mario Lacedelli and Luciano Zardini spent the night at Camp 4 and have now begun the tiring descent back to Camp 2 at 6600m,.

We expect Kari Kobler, the leader of the expedition to return from Camp 3 to BC early this afternoon, and he will soon begin to plan our return back to Islamabad.

WEATHER
27-07-2004
A weak ridge is situated over Afghanistan. It may at times affect the K2-area during the first days giving only risk of occasional showers. Then it seems to become more unsettled with frequent showers due to lows over Kashmir and Tibet.
